The Executive Committee consists of 13 members:
- Vice President
- Female Member
- 10 members representing each of the regional leagues
The President, Vice President and Female Member shall be elected by the Council. They shall undergo an integrity check, to be conducted by the Ethics Committee, prior to their election or re-election. The other 10 members of the Executive Committee shall be elected by the respective Regional Leagues.
The President shall be elected by the Annual General Meeting (AGM) for a period of four (4) years. The term of office of the President shall begin after the end of the AGM at which he/she was elected. No person may serve as President for more than three (3) terms in office (whether consecutive or not). Previous terms served as Vice President or members of the Executive Committee shall not be considered in determining the term of limits of a President.
The Vice President shall be elected by the Annual General Meeting (AGM) for a period of four (4) years. The term of office of the President shall begin after the end of the AGM at which he/she was elected. No person may serve as President for more than three (3) terms in office (whether consecutive or not).
For a person to be elected as an Executive Member of FAZ they sha;; be required to have at least five (5) years experience in a leadership position of a Member of FAZ three (3) years of which shall at least be within the ten (10) years immediately proceeding the elections.
All members of the Executive Committee must not have served a term of imprisonment at atleast 3 years, in the ten (10) years immediately preceding the elections and must also fulfil the prerequisites stipulated in Article 20 (8) of the Statues.
All members of the Executive Committee must be Zambian citizens and ordinarily a resident in Zambia.
All applications for aspiring candidates must be sent to the General Secretary of FAZ fourty-five (45) days prior to the electoral General Meeting at the latest. The official list of the duly nominated candidates shall be passed on to the Members of FAZ along with the agenda for the Council at which the Executive Committee will be elected.
A member of the Executive Committee may not at the same time be a member of a judicial body of FAZ, an employee of FAZ or serving official of a Member of FAZ.
A position will be considered vacant in the case f death, permanent disability or absence from six (6) consecutive Executive Committee meetings.
If a position or up to 50% positions of the Executive Committee become vacant, the Executive Committee shall fill the position(s) in question until the next elective AGM, and/or if more than 50% of the positions of the Executive Committee becomes vacant, the Emergency Committee shall convene and Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) in order for the Council to elect the replacement for the remaining term of office. If the Emergency Committee lacks the required quorum, the General Secretary shall convene an EGM within the prescribed period of time.
The Executive Committee shall meet at least once every month and the President shall convene the Executive Committee meetings. If more than 50% of the members of the Executive Committee request a meeting, the President shall convene it within seven (7) days.
