The Technical Director leads the country’s national technical development program. The main activities and responsibilities focus on increasing the number of players, youth and women’s football, Coach Education as well as research and documentation.

Talent Identification

the objective is to expand and improve the youth national team pool. A new scouting model for under 14 players has been launched. This functions as a collaboration among the current leagues i.e the zonal leagues, the provincial league and the elite league for under 16. The program is designed to discover and introduce a larger base of top talents at a very tender age for development purposes. This format helps to evaluate and inspire high potential players while accelerating their development in engaging and challenging environment.

Coach Education

The Technical Director is in charge of organising courses for coaches and instructors. Under Coach Education, a Coach Licencing system is defined is defined (Pro Licence, CAF A, CAF B, CAF C, FAZ D) in line with the need of the association and the parameters set forth by the confederation. This ensures that the clubs observe their obligation to use qualified /certified coaches linking this to the club licensing system. FIFA provides support to the association when it comes to the training of Youth Coaches, Goal keepers, Fitness coaches and instructors.

Sports Education

Sports Medicine deals with physical fitness and the treatment and prevention of injuries related to sports and exercise. All national teams have a team physicians, a masseur, a physiotherapist. These work with players during national team camps before major competitions.
