Zambia Eye COSAFA Championship Finals Spot

All eyes will be on the Zambia Under-17 Women National Team when they meet Namibia in Matchday 2 of the COSAFA U17 Girls Championship 2021 at Setsoto stadium in Maseru.
The 2020 runners-up must avoid defeat to secure the finals place having started the campaign with a 3-1 win over Botswana in the opening match on Thursday afternoon.
Today’s match was initially scheduled for Saturday morning but was cancelled due to heavy rains, but with clear skies witnessed Sunday morning, the match is set to kick-off at 10:00hours live on ZNBC TV 3 on TopStar on
Lucy Kajiya and Jessy Zulu will be key to Zambia’s progression in the tournament, having scored a brace and a goal respectively against Botswana.
Goalkeeper Chitete Musanka is expected in goal with Monica Mutisa, Mutinta Hatembo, Esther Musialela and Theresa Musatila expected to start at the back ahead of Bertha Kabota and Luty Kamanga.
In midfield, coach Kangwa Kaluba has Roydah N’gandu, influential skipper Lubasi Pumulo, Gracious Tailoshi and Tefeoga Munene with Doris Musonko and Josephine Phiri fighting for the available striking options.
Due to the Covid-19 travel restrictions and the Omicron Variant, there are only three teams in the competition, and Namibia’s second match against Botswana later this evening will decide the other finals spot if Zambia avoids defeat in the early kick-off.
