ROAD TO COSTA RICA 2022: Zambia Face Ghana in World Cup Qualifier

The Zambia Under-20 Women National team host the Black Princesses of Ghana in the third round, first encounter of the Costa Rica 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Coach Charles Halobiont will lead his pacey lasses at Nkoloma Sradium with CAF allowing 3,000 fans for the titanic clash.

Skipper Evarine Katongo will lead the squad that comprises Olympian Esther Siamfuko, the prolific Enelesi Phiri, Siomala Mapepa, Lungowe Namasiku among the possible game changers.

Inghutu Muchahabali will have to fend off competition from Lovesnnes Tonge to take the number one spot while Siamfuko, Bertha Imponene, Thelma Phiri and Judith Soko may be lined up at the back.

In the middle of the pack the likes of Comfort Selemani, Shelly Masumo, Loveness Malunga and Katongo will battle for places.

Black Princesses head coach Ben Fokuo has an array of promising starlets including six players of the impressive Hasaacas Ladies that finished second at the CAF Women’s Champions League.

The six players from Hasaacas  are goalkeeper Grace Banwah, Asanah Bugre, Rahama Jafaru, Azumah Bugre, Doris Boaduwaa and player of the tournament, Evelyn Badu.

Zambia and Ghana will square off in the return leg on December 18 in Accra with the winner over two legs qualifying to the fourth round.

Only two countries from Africa will qualify to the Costa Rica 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Today’s game will kick off at 15:00 hours with tickets being sold at Pick’n’ Pay Levy Junction and Webticket at Omega Mall in Northmead.

Tickets are being sold at K20 (open wing) and K100 (grandstand).
