Chipolopolo Tackle Mauritania in World Cup Qualifier

The Chipolopolo boys today (Saturday) return to action at National Heroes Stadium when they host Mauritania in the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Coach Beston Chambeshi and Aljosa Asanovic have a galaxy of in-form foreign and local based players that they summoned for duty for this assignment.

The players have been making the right noise ahead of this fixture with skipper Lubambo Musonda expected to lead his troops.

There is a clear tough contest for the number one spot with the revived Toaster Nsabata, Mwenya Chibwe and Gregory Sanjase in contention while the backline may be anchored on the fast-emerging telepathic pair of Tandi Mwape and Dominic Chanda with Isaac Shamujompa also staking a credible claim.

The rest of the cogs may be Benedict Chepeshi and Prosper Chiluya with Simon Silwimba also weighing in on the possibilities.

In the middle of the pack there is an improved contest from the previous fixture with Emmanuel Raby Banda, Dickson Chapa and Kelvin Kapumbu up for selection while creative options abound in the mould of Rally Bwalya, Clatous Chama, Kings Kangwa, Spencer Sautu and Musonda.

At the tip of the attack could be the red-hot pair of Patson Daka and Fashion Sakala of Leicester City and Rangers respectively.

However, the Mauritanians will be no pushover having pronounced this fixture as part of their preparations for the FIFA Arab Cup.

Skipper Adama Ba will lead the attack for the Mourabitounes with Mahmoud Abdallahi, Ismail Diakhite the other prolific options.

New coach Gerard Buscher will be looking to start his reign strongly when his side steps onto Heroes Stadium.

Tunisia tops Group B on 10 points while Equatorial Guinea lie second on seven with Zambia third on four.

Mauritania are at the foot of the table with a point.

Only group winners will qualify to the final round of 10 teams that will be paired in two-legged ties that will culminate in the five winners qualifying to the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Kickoff for the match is at 15:00 hours with tickets for the game on sale across Shoprite outlets via Computicket. Tickets are pegged at K30 (North & South), K50 (East Wing), K75 (West Wing) and K250 (VIP).

No tickets will be sold at the match venue with prospective spectators advised to be buy tickets at Shoprite outlets.
