We will not Underrate Malawi-Haluboono
Zambia Under-20 Women’s National Team coach Charles Haluboono says his team will not underrate Malawi in the return leg on Saturday despite carrying a 6-0 cushion from the first leg of the Costa Rica 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
In an interview with the FAZ media team before his team headed to Lilongwe, Haluboono said Malawi is a strong side that must be treated with respect if Zambia must qualify to the next round.
“We have prepared well. I think all the trainings we did, the players responded well. We are happy with the team,” he said.
“We are not underrating Malawi; they are a good team. they played well despite conceding those goals. We cannot make the mistake of underrating them.”
He said that his team will fight to give fans a positive result in the return leg.
“Zambians should expect positive results, we will try by all means to work extra hard and defend our lead,” Haluboono said.
The under-20 started strongly with a 6-0 bashing of the junior scorchers and will be looking to finish off the job away.
Whoever qualifies to the next round will meet either Ghana or Uganda.
