ROAD TO QATAR 2022: Triple C, Bwalya and Kangwa Stroll Straight into Action
The latest arrivals to the Chipolopolo camp Rally Bwalya, Evans Kangwa and Clatous Chama strolled straight into training hours after joining camp.
Chama, affectionately christened Triple C by his legion of adoring fans and Kangwa whose ‘Kalulu’ moniker still stirs some memories of predatory days in a Nkana shirt before trekking to Russia, lit up the evening session at the historically named Mbappe Leppe Stadium in Douala. There was no dull moment with the stepping into action of the gentle-natured ‘Kamuchacha’ who is better known as ‘Soft-touch’ by Simba fans.
The Chipolopolo continued building up to Thursday’s crunch Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier in the erratic Douala weather that oscillates between scorching heat and patchy rains.
Coach Beston Chambeshi and Technical Advisor Aljosa Asanovic expects more arrivals today before the team’s departure to Malabo on Wednesday in the first of two monumental clashes.
On Thursday, the Chipolopolo test the Nzalang Nacional in Malabo before hosting the Central Africans on Sunday at National Heroes Stadium.
Tunisia tops Group B with six points while the Chipolopolo are in second place on equal points with Guinea with the Zambians having a better goal difference.
Mauritania who faces table toppers Tunisia are on naught points.
