Mwila says Copper Queens Won’t Underrate Namibia

Zambia Women National Team assistant coach Florence Mwila says the Copper Queens will not take Namibia for granted during Sunday’s 2021 COSAFA Women’s Championship Group C fixture.

The Copper Queens head into tomorrow’s match as group leaders after sailing past Eswatini 5-0 in the opener while Namibia drew goalless with Uganda.

“Women football has really improved in the Southern region so there is no underdog in this tournament so even as we face Namibia, we are going in with our full plan to get the three points that we need for us to top the table,” Mwila said.

“Our aim is to go there and score goals so that we don’t start doing calculations.”

Mwila declared the team ready and expressed satisfaction with the players’ fitness levels ahead of the match billed for Madibaz stadium at 15:30hours.

In the early-kick off, tournament visitors Uganda entertain Eswatini.

Only the group winners alongside the second-best place finisher will advance to the semi-finals of the tournament which has three groups.

Tanzania were the first team to book a semi-final spot after they beat Botswana 2-0 to make it two wins out of two in Group B.
