Were Cautiously Optimistic about Leopards Clash

Zesco United Jesse Were says although their opponents in tomorrow’s CAF Champions League preliminary round, second leg tie Royal Leopards are tough he expects the Zambian champions to progress to the next round.

Speaking during a media briefing at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola, Were said competition in the team ahead of Saturday’s tie is stiff pointing to a strong match day squad.

All we must do is to capitalize our chances and get the goal that will qualify to the next round.

“I can foresee tomorrow as a victorious day. It will be good game, it will be tough, Leopards is a tough team, and they are coming to Zambia to fight,” he said.

“The fans should be patient with us because it is just the beginning of the games, and we played a few test matches. The competition has started.”

Zesco United host Royal Leopards of Eswatini in the second leg of the preliminary round encounter at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

The match will be played behind closed doors following a CAF directive in line with Covid 19 protocols.
