ROAD TO COSTA RICA: Haalubono Happy with Team Progress
Zambia Under-20 Women’s National Team coach Charles Haalubono has expressed satisfaction over the progress of his players currently in camp preparing for 2022 Costa Rica FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup second round qualifier against Malawi.
Haalubono says that the players are bonding well since regrouping at the start of this month, with each of the 37 players called in the provisional squad competing for places.
“Camping has been going on well, the girls are responding. We are trying to bond and play a coordinated game, so we are enhancing on that coordination and working extra hard,” Haalubono said.
Zambia will face Malawi in the first leg on September 26 before travelling to Malawi for the second leg on the weekend of October 7-9.
“We have to take advantage of home ground and put in everything. We may have supporters and we have to ensure that we take advantage of the 12th man in the stadium,” he added.
