Chipolopolo Test Falcons in Practice Match
The Chipolopolo boys play the first of two international friendly matches against Sudan this evening (Friday) at Al Hilal Stadium in Khartoum.
Although today’s match is unofficial, the game will be an opportunity for Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic to assess some players that have not seen action in the two fixtures played during the international window.
Zambia started with a 3-1 stumble to Senegal before drawing with the Squirrels of Benin at the General Mathieu Kerekou Stadium in Cotonou.
The third FIFA approved friendly will be played on Sunday (June 13) against the Falcons of Jediane who are preparing for their Group I encounters where they are paired with Morocco, Guinea and Guinea Bissau.
Sudan has always qualified for the Cameroon 2021 Affrica Cup of Nations (to be played in 2022) and are also keeping an eye on preparation for the biggest showpiece on the continent.
For today’s game it could be an opportunity to have players like Isaac Shamujompa, Makabansio Magenge and Gregory Sanjaase while others that have seen bit action may come in for more game time.
It will also serve as a dress rehearsal for Sunday’s crunch time in the scorching heat of Khartoum.
Micho has been using the friendly matches to refine his squad ahead of the September FIFA World Cup qualifiers where the team will be away to Mauritania and host Tunisia.
Kickoff is at 19:00 CAT and the venue is AL Hilal Stadium. a limited number of fans will be allowed in the stadium.
