Chipolopolo Arrive in Benin

The Chipolopolo boys have shifted base to Cotonou, Benin ahead of Tuesday’s international match against the Squirrels.

Coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic’s largely local assemblage lost 3-1 to a star-studded Senegal in Thies at the Stade Lat Dior on Saturday in the first of three international friendly games during the June FIFA window.

Micho handed debut appearances to Prince Mumba and Ntazana Mayembe.

Chanda netted the consolation goal for the Chipolopolo after Senegal had raced to a 3-0 lead at half time.

An improved second half performance by the Chipolopolo subdued a Senegal side that was enjoying a capacity crowd support from the home fans.

Senegal scored through Mane, Krepin Diatta and Ismaila Sarr.

The team arrived in Cotonou at 14:45 hours local time and is accommodated at the Royal Benin Hotel.

Zambia will play Benin on Tuesday at the Mathieu Kerekou Friendship Stadium at 19 hours local time.
