Lubambo Upbeat ahead of International Friendlies
Poland based midfielder Lubambo Musonda says there will be nothing friendly when Zambia plays the three international friendlies against Senegal, Benin and Sudan during the June FIFA Window.
The Chipolopolo will have an action-packed June with a tie with the Teranga Lions in Thies on June 5 before trekking to Cotonou to face Benin on June 8 and wind up with a clash against the Falcons of Jediane, Sudan, on June 11.
“They are good friendly games; they are top games and I think we will learn one or two things from them. We won’t take them as friendly games but as part of the qualifiers so that we get to see the level that we are on,” Musonda said.
He said the friendlies fit perfectly in Chipolopolo’s plans of preparing adequately for the 2022 Qatar World Cup qualifiers due in September.
“We have very good time to prepare, and these friendly games have come at a good time. We will definitely prepare adequately for the games in September,” he said.
The Slask Wroclaw workhorse was influential in helping the team to qualify for the UEFA Europa Conference League after finishing fourth in the Ekstraklasa.
“It’s been a great season for me and my team in Poland, we qualified to the Europa games and it’s definitely a good thing. We will prepare both for the qualifiers and for the Europa games,” Musonda said.
Musonda is among the first foreign based players to report for camp.
