Chipolopolo striker Patson Daka and midfielder Enock Mwepu have led Red Bull Salzburg to their eight successive Austrian Bundesliga title with two games to spare.

The duo was in action on Wednesday night as Salzburg cruised 2-0 past Rapid Wien courtesy of a Daka brace to bag a domestic double after winning the Austrian Cup on 1 May 2021.

Daka, who has scored 26 league goals this season, has now won the league five times; winning it in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 while Mwepu has four Bundesliga medals to his name.

“We have loads of quality, also as individuals, and we work really well together. We are an incredible team. Everyone works for each other and we all support one another,” Daka told the club website.

“It means so much to me, but it’s not only about me. It means so much to the club. I am just incredibly grateful and pleased that I was able to help the team to have such a good season. I am just really happy to be here.”

Salzburg travel to LASK on 16 May before wrapping up their campaign at home against WSG Swarovski Tirol.
