TOKYO OLYMPICS: Copper Queens to face Brazil, China
The Zambia Senior Women National Team has been drawn in Group F of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games (to be played in 2021) where they will rub shoulders with top guns of the game.
During draws conducted in Zurich today, the Copper Queens who are the sole representative of the African continent will face China, Brazil and Netherlands.
Group E has Japan, Canada, Great Britain and Chile while Group G comprises Sweden, USA, Australia and New Zealand.
Top two teams in each group and the two best third-placed teams will advance to the quarterfinals of the tournament scheduled to run from July 21 to August 6, 2021 in Tokyo.
The draws were conducted by FIFA Director of Tournaments Jaime Yarza, and FIFA Chief Women’s Football Officer Sarai Bareman conducted the draws, and were assisted by two FIFA Legends: Lindsay Tarpley, member of the USA women’s national team and two-time Olympic gold medalist (Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008), and Ryan Nelsen, captain of the New Zealand Olympic squad in 2008 and London 2012.
