Chipolopolo Move Up on FIFA Rankings
The Chipolopolo boys have moved three rungs up on the global charts according to the latest Coca-Cola FIFA Rankings released in Zurich.
Zambia who managed a 2-0 win over Zimbabwe and a 3-3 draw with Algeria in the just concluded Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers now stand 18th on the continent.
Algeria has slumped to third place on the continent with Senegal taking up the top spot.
Zambia’s opponents in the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup Mauritania have remained rooted on 101 in the world and 22nd in Africa while Tunisia remains second in Africa and 26th in the world.
Equatorial Guinea is in 132nd place in the world and 37th in Africa.
The Chipolopolo will be away to Mauritania in the first weekend of June before hosting Tunisia a week later.
On match day three, Zambia will be away to Equatorial Guinea between September 1-4 before hosting the Nzalang Nacional between September between September 5-7.
In the penultimate match in Group B Zambia will host Mauritania between October 6-9 with the final game of the campaign against the Carthage Eagles between October 10-12 at home.
Group toppers will qualify to the final round where 10 teams will face each other in two-legged ties that will see the five winners qualify to the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.
