We Have 100% Chance to qualify for Africa Cup of Nations – Daka
Austria based Chipolopolo striker Patson Daka says although the team will be playing without fans on Thursday against Algeria they will carrying in their heart.
The red-hot Red Bull Salzburg striker says the team knows what is at stake when they face the Desert Foxes at National Heroes Stadium.
“We have 100 percent chance to qualify, we have two games to play, and we need victories in both matches and that is what we want to achieve. We know that it is a di or die game,” said Daka who has scored 20 goals in 18 league matches in the Austrian Bundesliga so far.
He has scored five goals in as many games in the Austrian Cup with two goals in six matches in the UEFA Champions League.
“We have to make sure that we focus on Algeria because it is the first challenge that we have. We will look at the next challenge, so we just have to deal with Algeria first and see what next.”
Daka lamented the absence of fans in the stadium but noted that the team will carry the fans in their hearts.
“It is a pity that they are not in the stadium to witness this game. It is always amazing to play the games with fans, the atmosphere that they bring. I believe they are always with us in their various places even their support,” he said.
“We are carrying them in our hearts, and we know that we are not just playing for ourselves but for the country and for them. We will do our very best to make them proud.”
Zambia hosts Algeria on Thursday at National Heroes Stadium in a 21:00 hours kick-off.
The Chipolopolo sit at the bottom of Group H with three points and need to win both games against Algeria and Zimbabwe to qualify to the Cameroon 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
