Young Chipolopolo to prepare against Cameroon, Nigeria
Zambia’s U-17 team, Young Chipolopolo will play three international friendly games ahead of the Total U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) slated for March 13-31st in Morocco.
The team is expected to travel this week to Morocco for camping and also play the three friendly games.
According to the earlier programme coach George Chilufya’s team are meant to face Nigeria on March 3rd before taking on FUS Rabat’s U-17 side three days later. They will wrap up matters against Under-17 defending champions Cameroon three days later in readiness for their tournament.
Coach Chilufya has named a strong 22-man squad which was reduced from the original 41 players. The team is a mix of the 2020 COSAFA U-17 squad and new call-ups.
Skipper Miguel Changa Chaiwa will lead the pack that includes 2020 COSAFA Men’s U-17 goalkeeper of the tournament Eric Musonda Makungu, and midfielders Joseph Sabobo Banda and Julius Kumwenda.
The Young Chipolopolo are in Group A alongside hosts Morocco, Uganda and Ivory Coast.
